Morning preparations: Looks like 463 is going through to Antonito today which makes sense. This will leave all the K36s in Chama in case something happens to either 484 or 488/483.

The 463 has gone to the tank as the newly minted 483 comes to the pit complete with Rio Grande speed lettering. Good idea to do a check run before the big day.

Preparations continued and departure: We could call this Rio Grande train 216 since both locomotives are lettered for this railroad. I can't be totally sure, but I think the 'new' 483 has a new whistle. What I am hearing would almost qualify as a "steamboat whistle".

The 463 has backed onto today's train 216. Tried something different here cutting a vertical image and posting.

The train is now in loading position with at least 1 extra car on the back. What is neat about this, it only counts as one picture and they display full size not cropped like a single shot does.

Its a darn good thing I stayed home for this, since the north cam has already frozen once on me and being here I can refresh it.

The 483 is almost to the tank as the last car is now past the depot

The extra 6 cars are now in full view as the train moves out of the yard

been watching the feed all morning and 488\483 has had everybody taking photos. even the train crew. if a fake can generate that much action imagine what the real 483 would generate
