Night Watchman Quarters
The yard crew was shuffling cars around 5:00 P.M. Saturday and exposed the "night watchman's quarters." It is the yellow building with green roof nestled among the trees on the east side of the tracks. Looking north from the building, you will see the snow removal equipment and several boxcars. Soon this group of cars was pulled back in front of the night watchman quarters.
The locomotive has coupled with the snow blower to the front and a string of cars to the caboose. It is pulling the snow blower and pushing the cars at the same time. The odd looking consist is moved south until the snowblower and a new string of coupled cars to the north cover the watchman quarters from view. This task is completed in less than 35 minutes.
This grouping of cars stayed in place up to the time it was too dark to see any changes.
