Yes, the precipitation from the storm Sunday is a good thing and helps, but apparently there'd need to be a lot more to really ease things. At Cimarron, about 95 miles southeast of Chama, here's how the incident management team working the Ute Park fire assessed the storm Sunday: "Precipitation may help limit fire activity in the short term, but critical fire weather conditions are expected to return."

A spokeswoman with the incident management team told me Saturday they thought fire weather conditions would get dangerous again Monday.

6:15 local time rains are over with 488 at the ash pit. Lots of standing puddles in camera views. Hopefully this moisture will help forstall fire problems here for a bit.
