Watching the camera views it is obvious that the Cumbres/Toltec is a working concept. The railroad staff and volunteers are side-by-side getting the job done. Regardless of how close you look, it is not possible to distinguish one from the other.

Amidst billowing smoke and blaring whistles, Locomotive #489 makes a spectacle of itself as it pulls Train 216 out of the yard and heads off to Antonito, Colorado. For those watching from other countries, there is no need to show a passport to travel from New Mexico to Colorado.

The attachment Goose 5 North Yard.jpg is no longer available

Goose 5 spotted "waddling around" in the North Yard at 1:46 PM. Click on photo for full size graphic.

I believe it was eight months ago in October that "Wacky Roger" found Galloping Goose #5 and Goose #7 wandering around the Chama railyard. He kindly posted this video in his forum at the time.

Roger's Sub-Forum is available at: viewforum.php?f=116

Here you will find fine Chama-Toltec videos and stills.
Roger, thanks for your fine contribution to steam railroading.

The Galloping Goose returns!

The Galloping Goose Historical Society and the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic RR are once again bringing The Galloping Goose back to the railroad. Goose #5 will operate between Chama and Antonito July 26, 2017 through July 30, 2017. The Goose will return again during the Fall colors and will make trips between Chama and Antonito September 22, 2017 through September 25, 2017 and September 28, 2017 through October 1, 2017.

Learn more about riding the Galloping Goose at the its Cumbres and Toltec website. http://cumbrestoltec.com/galloping_goose_5/
There you will find wonderful graphics and the information you need to book a
ride during its visits.

Roger once again shares another Galloping Goose video.

The large font size is my idea. Hope you are not offended. It is such a great event that it should be shouted about, and even waved at.
