10/15/16 Slightly warmer and nice train

With 11 cars queued up for today's 216 we will probably have the double header with 463 as road locomotive and either of the K36's as helper. Its nice to know even this close to closing that the railroad can get good loadings on the weekends.

Though its hard to see the plow of the helper, I think its 489. Also I think that is the gentleman we call the 'waver' up on the coal ramp watching the proceedings.

Arrival of train 215: 489 and 10 cars including the 2 green coaches. There is a very good likely hood that the flat roofed coach behind the locomotive is a Osier flip back. It is the Alamosa and until I see the video to get the name of the first coach on 216 can't say for sure. Going by the worn roof covering.

Today's videos -

Train 216 departs with 11 car consist, 463 is the road locomotive and 484 is the helper. Will this be the last double-header of the season? We'll just have to wait and see.



Train 215 arrives behind 489 with 10 car consist. Seemed to be a large proportion of young kids that got off the train, wonder if there was some kind of school group or something today that led to the big trains. Whatever it is, good to still see some business as we head into the final week of the season.

Sitting here this morning (Sunday) waiting for 216 to depart, and I noticed the caboose and box car were gone from where they have been for a couple weeks. So they only moved yesterday -- I'm slow!! Anyway, when 484 came back from helper duty they were moved to the South yard, here's some video for it.

Getting that track ready for winter tender storage. Considering that they took them down the main, must have wyed them before placing in the yard.
