Question on 463's Bell

Unread postby Farol Henkle » Tue Aug 23, 2016 3:38 pm

Can anyone tell me about the bell on #463? It is so different sounding, and very beautiful! Almost like a chime sound from a church. It's a very clear, sharp sound, and not dull. "Squeaky", as I nicknamed her, is certainly one of a kind, and I enjoy watching and hearing her every time she runs.

To start with, its a manually rung bell which allows the clapper to hit the bell sides with a sharp blow and then move away as it rings. The auto bells have a tendency to have the clapper hit the bell again before the full note has rung so it gets cut off.
