Some further random shots of E

I am going to try and group these according to project. All were shot with my personal camera and not one of the point and shoots that they were handing out.
I am starting with the wheel and tie car which basically had to be taken down to the framing and rebuilt.

They needed a tank car spotted at one of the loading points so they could adjust the filling nozzle and the gang plank to the car. We see Conductor Ray working with one of the crew to spot the car.

Lets now look at the work on the new kitchen storage car. Here the plywood interior sheathing is being applied.

Thursday is a very popular day at the kitchen car since hamburgers are cooked and served. Here Jeanne is doing the honours of cooking everyone's burger.

As I noted in my first post about the session, the roof on the kitchen car was leaking. Here we see the work crew painting the new roof walk supports.

Great photos Sharon, geez, you must have been standing right by me when Ray was backing that tank car under the oil rack boom. Tom Hindman, (the guy on the right pulling the new deck panels off of the tractor forks) broke his left wrist a few months ago, yet still came out to work session and was a BIG HELP. That boy is TOUGH!

Don says they started working on the wheel and tie car at the beginning of session C, there was so much decay in the sills that they had to take the car down to the wheelsets. About the only original wood on that car are the end sills as they were in good condition.

Don said that by the end of session F the car is FINISHED, only requiring painting and stenciling to make it roadworthy again. He said there are only 20 days of working on that car from start to finish. That HAS to be some kind of record for the Friends.

I still think it is amazing what they do with the equipment.
