It's mid-week, and looks like it's 489's turn today as she's at the ash pit this morning, though 487 is also outside with headlight on, so we'll see if anything more happens there.

487 has pulled up behind 489 -- just for an ash pit visit or will there be more today -- we'll soon know.

487 is up by the tipple, waiting for all to be ready - obviously going to be the helper today. Also seeing some smoke now from 463 by the shop.

Adding 2 coaches, which will indeed bring us to 9 cars today.

489 has pulled the train forward, now 487 backs to be coupled up as the helper.

Just after 216 departed the forklift came along the track with a large piece of something they are moving down to the North yard, probably by the oil racks.

They were pieces of new decking for Gramps rack. This week the railroad has been having a number of group tours riding. With today being Cinder Bear as well as the groups they needed 5 coaches. By the way, that is my car in front of the bunk house since I am now chronicling.

Thanks Sharon! Now that you say decking I can see that's what it would be. It's good to see a nice crowd riding mid week, and that the railroad is getting the groups. The chronicling sounds like an interesting job to be doing too!!

487 moved 463 from the East to the West side shop lead, then 487 went back and is now just outside the East side door.

Here's today's video - starting with 216 double header, decided to do one normal and one old film look -- both same videos, I just like the look of back in time!

215 arrives with 484 at the point. Nice view from the depot cam with no RPO there for now.

Platforms for the oil racks are moved just after 216 headed out.

A deer visits just before the cams turn to night mode.

Did anyone happen to catch the CDOT South web cams this morning when it showed a lot of animals (deer?) all over on both sides of the highway? Couldn't quit tell what they were, but it looked like a herd of black cattle was loose.

Farol I didn't see this morning, but have quite often seen cattle on that cam - saw a few a couple days ago. I'll keep my eyes on it and get a capture if I can next time.

At the end of D session there were about a half dozen real cowboys working several truckloads of cattle back by the pavilion at Cumbres. At that time the cattle were going all over the place.

I think I might see them again just now. Same webcam, but just at the right end of the highway.
