10-4-15 Great Times in Chama Yard

Unread postby Larry Gibson » Sun Oct 04, 2015 5:11 am

It's Sunday morning and the Goose is roosting down by the enginehouse waiting for its short flight up to Cumbres before departing for home over in Delores this afternoon. Goose goes out at 9:30 and if all goes well will be nesting at the museum by 5:30 PM. Railroad is now into the homestretch of the 2015 season. Great times!

Thanks for sharing your weekend with us. I had 'goose bumps' here in Omaha just watching all of the activity yesterday. Have a safe journey home!

Well hope we don't have the air line issues from the other day. I just heard the air dump on the forward move to get into position.

Even the rear door on that thing is cool.

With it being a cool morning it is shut, they usually run with the doors, front and rear, open.

216 gets underway and stops briefly at the coal tipple and the engineer goes forward to look at something, then they get going again.

I am surprised that the Goose just got back from Cumbres.

The 488 just pulled another engine out of the right stall and moved it over and shoved it into the left stall. Then came back and went into the right stall.

After an amazing week, with lots of action on the web cams, and lots of photos from our Friend Larry Gibson, Sunday was a relatively quiet day in the old train yard. Here's today's videos (missed Goose return).

10-04-15 Goose #5 heads for Cumbres. Came back in the afternoon and now should be back home now. We look forward to seeing RGS Galloping Goose #5 again in 2016
