8/7/15 Watch out 'deer'

Unread postby Sharon Evans » Fri Aug 07, 2015 5:57 am

I was watching and 487 is moving about and it came out, then backed to where the 463 was sitting in front of the round house. A deer ran across the yard between the 2 engines and 487 had to stop while it made its run. 487 then moved the 463 over to the left side of the engine house as we see it. Well, once they got the 463 and 487 back into the left side, a crew member went and moved the access switch so the 489 now had the route so maybe we are not going to see the 487 yet on the 216, time will tell today.

I am watching the Friends crew who are working on the storage boxcar tarping it and wrapping the project up for this work session. From the work session shots it has no sides on it at this point.

Looks like 463 has a fire in its belly.

Train 216 leaves Chama today with 489 leading and a group of Friends taking a break to watch its passage by the coaling tower.

Are they doing some kind of boiler test on the 487? They have had her hot all day and the pop keeps going off since they have been holding the engine at max pressure.

I think the 463 is now on the south side of the engine house since I see smoke from there and 487 and 484 are in front.

Today's videos.
08-07-15 Early morning locomotive moves, note the deer that runs between the two locomotives making 487 stop for a bit. Thanks Sharon for pointing that out, I didn't notice it live at the time.
