This may look like a "sit down" job, but actually MOW Team Leader Bob Ross and Richard Dick are putting the number on the "Cinder Bear" rider gondola! They found they could still make out the number before it was painted, so didn't need stencils. Their free-hand work looks good!

The restoration team on display Engine #483 finished what they came to do. No more work will be done until the 2014 work sessions. It looks a whole lot better than when they started, for sure!

Team Leader Bob Conry and a few helpers have made good progress on the Car Inspector's House at Cumbres. This photo shows the west side of the house where a door had been cut and then covered. Whoever worked on the door cut the studs and did not use a header, so the side was bulging significantly. Bob has found that the side is actually still square, and he's framing it back in the way it was originally. Actual dimensional lumber is being used by Bob which means that the 2x4's are two inches by four inches instead of today's reduced thickness. The original studs were also 24 inches on center instead of today's 16 inches on center.

It's hard to see, but two jacks have been used to support the roof trusses which are sagging. In the future, Bob wants to correct that problem - along with a number of other problems!

John Weiss has started nailing the newly primed siding on to Derrick OP's hoist house.

Sure is neat to see inside the Car Inspectors House. I'd like to go in there someday.

I sure missed not being there this year. Sitting on the sidelines isn't fun at all.
