Lifting the first draft gear assembly under the tank car. We couldn't have done it without the BIG fork lift.

OB and some other cars under the car shelter. If the Rogers comes over, it will find a spot there on the right.

Milling blocks for the draft gear. We probably ran that mill at least 25 hours over the course of the week. Thanks Malcom.

Making some adjustments before shoving the draft gear in its final resting place.

Hi Bill, thanks for all the great photos, it is wonderful to see the Antonito CRF hitting its stride in restoration work. The underside view of the shed really shows how big this structure really is, and it will certainly be put to good use protecting the cars. BTW, I plan on working on the Rogers in E and will see if we can get it running so it can be moved over to the CRF.

The 'Rogers' is the brand name of the critter locomotive that the Friends bought at the Sundown and Southern auction years ago. It is a 5 ton gas (6 cyl International Harvester engine) running a hydraulic transmission. If you look at the north facing camera in the Chama yard, you will see it on the right with the zebra stripes. The fire patrol speeder usually ties up for the night right in front of it.
