YET MORE PHOTOS....

At the top of the roof in one end of car RPO 054, framing work can be seen. This is where a water reservoir would go for the bathroom that was at the end of the car.

Team Leader Don Bayer shows me the frame from which the mail bags were hung, and an actual mail bag he has that will be displayed. The bag in his hands is a heavy duty leather/canvas bag that was thrown from a train as it passed through a town at high speed. These bags were never used on the narrow gauge railroad because of their very slow speeds.

Todd Frazier stands on a small block to hold the oak toungue and groove tight as Norval Alliston screws a piece to the floor. The flooring is being screwed instead of being nailed because of the movement of the car down the rail.

Part of the lettering crew tapes stencils on Car #3686. This week, the crew has lettered Cars #3533, 3484, 3254, 3016 and 3231. These are all Friends' cars located in front of the Engine House.
