WORK SESSION B - Wednesday, May 29 - Part I
Posted: Wed May 29, 2013 8:53 pmWork Session B is halfway over - and the volunteers in Chama and Antonito took some time in the evening to get together for some good food and friendship! In Antonito, the volunteer dinner was held at the Mogote RV Park recreation center - barbecue hamburgers, grilled by Chef Russ Hanscom, plus lots of other treats. In Chama, Bob and Holly Ross hosted the volunteers at their home. It was time to take a break from the hard work - as evidenced by these photos:
- This is one of the four new doors for Railway Post Office Car #054 made by TL Craig McMullen in his Colorado Springs shop.
- Marshall Smith delivers additional scaffolding for the RPO car as TL Don Bayer watches his approach.
- Phil Kuhl waits as TL Don Bayer and Joe Kanocz unload a piece of scaffolding for the RPO car.
- Dan Sandt, George Davies and George Trever work on top rail of one side of the "Cinder Bear" rider gondola.
- Wood brackets lying on the floor are part of the supports for a bench that will be reinstalled in the rider gondola.
- It was cool and windy this morning in Chama! Carol Mackey, Tool Car, stands in the sun and out of the wind to warm up!
- FIRST AGAIN! You have to be quick if you're going to beat Marshall Smith in line for lunch!
- An outside contractor is sandblasting one of the frameless tank cars in Antonito.
