The final Train 216 of the 2023 season departs Chama as a DH!

Yes, I watched it from my PC here in NE Florida. I'll miss going out there but 2023 was our last by order of the boss. Same thing has happened to at least two other docents that I know of. Not all of the cars were
occupied so I guess one or two were in the mix just to avoid needing a hospital train later.

Deer have the yard to themselves, with no photographers around, late afternoon on last day of 2023 season.

I got to wonder if so of those deer aren't sort of mascots. In 2022, I worked the last 3 weeks of the season and on days when I wasn't on the train, I would go over and help get folks on the train etc. So one day as I return to my car in the lot, I see what looks like a big dog but it turns out to be a very young buck. He comes right up to me, nuzzles me a bit and I rub his ears, and then he moves on off. Probably a year old or less. I saw one while waiting on the train one evening at my PC and it looks like you have a older one and a baby in that image.
