This morning there are two locos out and about, 484 being one of them. Would imagine a double header is in the works for this morning.

I know I said yesterday that the rain helps to create some great smoke effects, but then so does the snow and frost!

I do believe there is an Engineer/Fireman school on today and that is why 487 is in the south yard.

Even if they topped off with coal yesterday, that does not stop the hostlers from adding a few more scoops.

Have to agree with others who have already said the 488's stack looks fine without the screen on top!

I'm glad they've taken the plow off myself!

487 departs Chama with the first train of the last Engineer/Fireman school of the season, almost completely shrouded in steam.

484 has now added 2 extra coaches to the train, making 11 in all.

A slightly late departure for 216 this morning, headed by 488 and 484, again like 487 shrouding themselves in steam. The train briefly stopped at some point. Coach Los Pinos was missing from the contist, so there were 9 coaches in the formation, not 11 as I guessed earlier.

Agreed, personally have always thought they look better that way. But no disputing it has been a good morning for watching the narrow gauge!

Does anyone know if the dining hall at Osier has been repaired? I imagine it must be rather chilly eating in the tent(s).

The last posting on the Osier dinning hall is next year for reopening.
