Photo charter on web cams this AM (10/19)

This morning starting about 6:00 am Chama time I watched as a photo special was being put together. The actual train was assembled the previous day so this early morning's activity consisted of servicing the engines and basically getting the show on the road. The 24 car consist included stock cars, drop bottom gons, high side gons, pipe gons, idler cars, boxcars, work crew cars and a caboose. It was magnificent!
After the 'high' of watching this train something else hit. All that rolling stock represents an incredible amount of work by dedicated volunteers, giving of their time, their sweat, and of their expenses to restore these historic cars to operating condition. Not to be over looked are the donations by so many over the years that paid for the materials used in the restoration work.
This whole show from the train to the web cams that it was viewed on, and everything in between, is the result of or has been enhanced by, the efforts of volunteers.
Incredible!
