10/21/19 Winter season begins

Unread postby Sharon Evans » Mon Oct 21, 2019 1:45 pm

The 15 is out and has tucked 315 into the west stall of the roundhouse and moved 463 to the west door of the house. Now has moved through the yard to get to the south side of the house so 463 maybe loosing its tender today. 488 and 484 are both in front of the east side of the house and still hot. They had their fires cleaned and water added to the tender and the bunkers washed down. 463 is still showing steam but maybe cooling down.

Believe a tender-less 463 was pushed into the east stall of the roundhouse later yesterday. The team is not wasting any time getting started on winter activities.

I'm surprised there haven't been any ballast trains to date? They are usually primitive at the early stage of the off season.
Just a guy who loves steam.
