The cams are back, but I don't know for how long. The network healed itself... and that's never a good sign.

They're back. For now.

It's not the internet. The network node I replaced last weekend is doing the same thing the previous node was doing. It's likely either a power issue or excess heat in the attic. John Engs is on-site and taking a look.

In the long-term, we will be replacing the gear. Everything has been approved. The project is now waiting for me to clear my schedule enough to get back up there.

More later...

463 has now backed onto 483s tender.

463 very cautiously brings the tender of 483 down the main and pushes it to the yard to be finally reunited with 483.

Next our old favourite places the RPO back behind 483.

That is FAN-FREAKIN'-TASTIC!

How long has it been since 483 had her tender? 3 decades?

483 was retired in 1977 when it was apparent that she was worn out. Her tender was used as a source of spares for 488, not sure whether this is 488s original tender. Roughly since the 90s has 483 been tenderless.

I (and the rest of the 483 team) are ecstatic that the tender is home. We applaud the railroad for carefully nursing the old tender into position. It took a fair amount of work (both last year and this year) to get it into a condition where it could be moved at all. (See the recent thread on locomotives for more details.) The challenge now is to turn “the beauty and the beast” (483 and her tender) into two “beauties”.
