Frogs

Unread postby Robert Brigham » Wed Apr 24, 2019 9:57 pm

Not much happening during the day, but I happened to turn on the South Tipple camera at dusk. Such a racket: the nearby Chama River has really come alive. It started just before sundown, and the frogs are still at it at 11pm MDT. (The evening temperature was 59F so everything seems to be thawing out.)

I hear lots of sound. Not just the frogs (which I never noticed in previous years - maybe they are short-lived, I'll have to ask Roger H.) but Canada geese as well as Chama traffic.
I don't know if somewhere along the way the microphone gain got tweaked or what. Anyway, it makes for quite a soundscape, particularly if you live in an urban/suburban environment.
BTW, I am using Safari on a Mac.

I've listened to some terrific birds during the summer months, some of them pretty close to the tipple. It really adds to the whole Chama experience and makes me want to get out there and put binoculars on them.
