10/23/2018 Tuesday Workaround To Avoid BRI Graphic Bug

I am not considered a purist by friends, however I find the BRI graphic bug a distraction in both videos and snapshots. Using Bandicam I have recorded and uploaded a video showing a before and after implementation of a workaround to avoid the BRI graphic bug. The video opens with a view of the new white frame surrounding the 640x480 screen image resolution of the South camera. The images are clear and relatively sharp. The BRI Logo is in the upper right corner. The video recording resolution is 800x640. At approximately 34 seconds into the video, the video player is set to full screen. The resulting screen recording has been matched in physical size with a resolution of 1424x1031.

Again the recording resolution has remained at 800x640. Walla - the graphic logo bug is no longer part of the video images being recorded. The resulting video is quite acceptable, but suffers a bit from the resizing of the screen recording to 1424x1031. The shrinking of the video recording to a resolution of 800x640 helps restore some of the sharpness and focus of the video images. These remarks have been based upon viewing the workaround video with a PotPlayer video player.

Sadly, YouTiube will reprocess my workaround video to meet their requirements. It is certain that they will compress the video file and possibly resize the resolution. This results in a loss of fidelity and diminishes the overall appearance of the moving images. However, until the forum iis abe to integrate a better video payer we have to be grateful for what we have.

If you have waded completely through this diatribe, I offer you my sincerest appreciation. If not, it is completely understandable.

I removed the logo.

There will be some new features with the new player and I'll have access to those late next week. There will be a period of adjustment which is why I waited for the season to end to begin work on this.

Patience and feedback are appreciated.

Good evening Jason, and thanks for removing the BRI Bug. The workaround was a necessary waste of time. I tried to replicate the parameters of the above video but without the BRI bug, to show how the resulting YouTube video will broadcast. The Screen resolution of the video image is now 746x546 instead of 1424x640, and the video record aspect resolution remains at 800x600. This video is the result of those changes. By comparison, focus and definition have dropped off a bit. However, I am confident viewers including myself appreciate the larger image. Knowing that Sharon is creating the "official" video archive of the C&TS views on the Friends web cameras, it will be interesting to see if she changes her video and snapshot recording procedures.

It is good to see an upgrade to the site. Please understand that comments are meant to be constructive and supportive. As always, submitted in good faith.

Video recording from the current procedures of broadcasting the three webcams.
