Morning preparations for school freight departure: We are off to a busy start today with the student locomotive and 315 both out getting ready. This must be a first, a double headed student freight.

Afternoon doings to include the return of the students for lunch and back out on another Cumbres turn: The 484 came back light locomotive so wonder if 315 took those cars on to Antonito. The students picked up the cars which were moved this morning before 216 left and headed back to Cumbres. Coming back light locomotive raises an interesting question, did they van the rest of the students back to Chama since no way 10 people could fit in the cab.

Arrival of the student freight: It is almost 6:30 pm MDT and still no student freight into Chama. Did they actually go to Antonito today instead of tomorrow?

The next grab on the cam did not show these cars, so is it now headed back to Chama, which would put it into town after dark. This has been one strange day for these students. The student freight got back to Chama just before 8pm. Would be interesting to know what the issue was that kept them at Cumbres for so long.

Sharon, The doubleheader that went out behind 315 and 484 was the photo freight chartered by the Friends. 463 (453) was taken out of service so 484 got the call as helper and 315 became the road engine and took the freight consist all the way to Antonito. I hope that helps explain some of the oddities in today’s events.
Thanks Robert for that update. Interesting in that the railroad's posted schedule had that charter running Saturday as a Antonito Osier Antonito train and did not list a return today. So the students only did one trip today and that was in the afternoon with 484 which ran into some kind of issue which caused it to stay at Cumbres a long time.
