Morning preparations: Currently all 10 cars from yesterday's 215 are still staged at the depot so we will see what happens, maybe a double header again.

Fantastic morning of surprises in the yard - totally epic mixed consist with a mid-train loco!

Well I am home and beginning to process todays recordings so looking forward to what we get. Just looked at the recording and would guess that the 487 and freight cars were coming off at Cumbres so it was easier to couple them ahead of the regular train. Also in this configuration, no stopping at Lobato needed.

For some reason, the train stopped briefly just as the parlor was past the house lead switch.

There were 3 crewman in the cab of 484 so wonder if there was someone doing a qualifying run today.

As an aside, I couldn't remember the track alignment up at Cumbres so I jumped into Google Maps today and was pleased and amused to find this in between Windy Point and Cumbres Station.

Its amazing what you can see on Google earth. The time stamp on that shot is this year, so was shot this summer.

Arrival of train 215: As I reviewed the video I realized that the train had 11 cars this afternoon, 7 coaches as well as the café, open gon, tourist and parlor.

They removed 3 of the 4 extra coaches after coming back from the wye, so right now its set for an 8 car 216 tomorrow,
