There is an extra car on 215. It is behind the parlor car and it appeared to be occupied. I believe it is one of yhr cars for 168

Pete, it sure looks like it. It is narrower then the parlor ahead of it. I am holding off starting supper to get a lite shot of it when the train heads to the wye.

There is lettering on the side but I can't read it. It has two jacks on the roof so 2 stoves which would make this a cozy car in winter.

Friends, the mystery coach is an authentic 1880 Jackson & Sharp passenger car #292. It will be displayed in front of all of those box cars I posted this morning. I will post more pix of # 292 in the morning. I am told it is very valuable and of course historic. We have received a $200,000 grant to restore it from History Colorado.

They are working on a second car in Antonito I understand.

how is the rebuild of 168 going

That is also my understanding, but I don't believe that car is very far along.
I believe the cab and tender for 168 are done.

Pete, based on pictures that I have seen posted, you are correct as to the cab and tender. In fact the tender is finished. Also as we move into the 4th week, it is going to be interesting to see how the railroad's numbers are since the D&S is now not restarting steam through to Silverton until 7/12 at the earliest.
