Morning preparations: As the morning begins, there are 8 cars on 216 for today.



Note: between the picture above and the one below, blue flags were installed to protect the tracks where the Friends will be working. This is usually done by Avery.


Have to admit, do not like the automatic bell that is on 463 now.


488 is wetting down his coal bunker and 463 is moving up behind to do it also.

Departure of train 216: Does not look like we are going to get the departure of this train.

Power is back on so we will have 215.

This is the only picture I have before the stream went down.

Arrival of train 215:

Power went down in the depot around 8:00 don't know when it came back up.
216 left with several head end cars and a caboose on the end.
When the train arrived at Cumbres, it appeared that the head end cars and the caboose were empty.
After 488 came off at Cumbres, it took water and then followed the train toward Oster.

Thanks Pete, I thought I did not see 488 sitting in Chama. I also wondered if the cars were an equipment move to get them back to Antonito after coming over on the geology train. Is it possible that 488 picked up the cars at Los Pinos?

I don't know about a pick up. After we got up to Cumbres we spent the rest of the cutting up felled trees so we could get into the car inspectors house. If we get done at a reasonable time tomorrow, I'll see about running over to Los Pinos.
