The crew took the 484 down to the tank before backing onto the train. Just occurred to me that this wetting of the coal in the bunker is another way to reduce the fire risk since it washes a lot of the fines away.

My stream froze at 9:21 MDT so I have nothing until now 14:25 MDT when I returned home and restarted it. Will have the return of the afternoon student train and arrival of 215.

Smoke in air at Cumbres most likely from 416 fire. Loco smoke at Antonito both about 9:10 local time.

I noticed that the train is (as I post this) still at the depot.

Wondering if they're having issues getting the fire patrol speeders ready to follow. Lots of shuffling and tank filling at the ash pit. Abundance of caution, what with the entire San Juan National Forest being closed today.

By the looks of this would say the student train will follow 215 into Chama. The bus has not moved in the last CDoT update at 1521 so 215 most by running late.


488 is still in the engine house from what I can see and 315 is on the south side.





Because of its being late, wonder if they are giving passengers the option of taking the bus down to Chama or back to Antonito. Guess I will rethink that since as of the 1611 grab, that bus is still at Cumbres. Maybe its not a bus but one of those RVs built on a bus chassis.

Arrival of student freight: Student freight in first, they swapped locomotives at Cumbres with 216 this morning since 489 is now on the freight and it went out on 216.

Arrival of train 215: Its coming up on 6 pm MDT and 215 is not in yet. Wow, where is 215 it is now almost 6:30 pm in Chama.
