I am monitoring activity so if 489 heads back to Antonito will have stills and video later. 489 has moved out of the house so may have something today.

Following this, the 489 continued to do switching in south yard as well as into the swamp until its departure to Cumbres with the first section of its train to Antonito.

Lot going on in the yard today - anybody know why they are digging out the station track?

No idea and I am only recording the 2 tipple cams. I just fired up the depot cam and see a loader and 3 guys at the station platform. Maybe some track needs replacing? Guess that explains why the Colorado train set is sitting in north yard. I have reviewed the video and it looks like all of the regular passenger cars are in Chama expect the Chama, tourist car, and New Mexico, parlor. Will be processing everything and post videos of the switching and departure of 489 with one flat roof coach, flat car, shorty caboose and regular caboose. Not much of a hospital train after all.

The cars are still up at Cumbres so I am wondering if they are not doubling the hill with only one locomotive available. I am back recording live so no more processing of the earlier stuff until later. As far as the work in front of the depot, in watching they are scraping the top layer off which is probably accumulated ash and coal dust.

This means that we have another day, at least, of steam in Chama. I would say, there is a good chance the entire Colorado set will head east tomorrow with them picking up the cars left at Cumbres. Shades of the old D&RGW operations.
