Will post what highlights I have since the stream froze on me when 463 was moving the cars behind the 315 into south yard sometime around 12:10 pm MDT. This turned into a busy day with both 463 and 487 in action.

Yard activities continue:



This video of switching activity is 47 minutes long and this is edited. Also I want to point out that the north tipple cam is 90+ seconds ahead of the south cam so you are going to hear audio that does not have any relation to the video action.




At this point I lost the feed. I do know that 487 has come back with the hoppers for a refill. Also I think 463 is done and is sitting in front of the east stall.




Once everything is done for the day I will put together a video or 2 to cover the action. 487 will be active for as long as they are doing track work and need ballast so we have things to watch in the days ahead.

Sharon has done a fine job of catching photos of the the yard activity this morning. Particularly like her selection and the ability of Bandicam to catch the photo in dynamic color. These short videos take place about 11:30 A.M. You will notice that the video is from three cameras, which requires a lot of switching to capture. According to the Brown-Rice software, the "Pause" interruption is programmed for 10 minutes. This time limitation is not only a problem when capturing a particular camera and the "pause" stops all transmission, but also a problem when switching to another camera and it is "paused". The flow of the videotaped story has now become convoluted for both final viewer and a person taping the action. Extending the timing of the pause places no additional broadband demand upon the Chama server, since the feed from the cameras is not actually hosted there. Thus, I am strongly suggesting that the time allowed between "pauses" be increased. All Chama Cam viewers may then enjoy the train activity with fewer interruptions.

The "YouTube Theater View" still remains among the best. However, it is only available on the YouTube website viewer. The full screen view is certainly useful, but not as clear as the theater view.

Nice Rick, I will do the earlier switching which included the swamp as well as all stuff related to the ballast runs of 487. Thanks for the remarks on the photographs, I use Lightroom post processing to enhance the dynamics of the shots before posting and if I am doing them real time, attempt to match the end result of my work to what I am seeing on the screen.


Headed again to the far end of south yard where the ballast must be staged.

Thanks for this information. You appear to have found a procedure and software that can provide the best that the Bandicam photographic clips have to offer. Have noticed that there are four image formats available from Bandicam. May I ask which you have selected? I would think that your post processed copies can be enlarged wonderfully. Some months back you were comparing browsers. Have you singled out a brand that seems to work best? I have settled upon Clicq for most tasks. However, if there are YouTube videos I wish to download, Clicq has this functionality built-in. As noted above, I have yet to find a way to bypass the confounding 10 minute camera "Pause" inserted in the BrownRice code.

H264 CPU is the video recording format I use for Bandicam. The browser that I used for the Chama cams is Chrome and it has been fairly reliable, though at time the stream coming in will freeze on one or both cams. As far as enlarging the images I end up with, still gives you fairly grainy results.

That feature is there to keep costs down. If it wasn't, there are some that would never turn them off and rack up expensive bills. Every second of use by every person cost the Friends money.
