. Train #216 pulled by Locomotive #489 and containing 7 cars, with Cinder Bear jumping around in the gondola anxious to meet the kids, departs the Chama Depot on schedule. The last of the movie set muddy brown paint is about to be replaced. So enjoy it while you can?
The Fire Shed is now red again, and the Tool Shed is now yellow again. The "Hostile" Movie crew were supposed to paint them after the Location shots, but they never did. I cant wait until Sunday so I can see them live. Great work , as usual, Friends Work Crew. Also there is no light tonight in the Sand Bunker. Thanks for the report Rick. And the query.

Frank, there is no better proof that you are right, than watching this video of the folks painting the fire shed red and the tool shed yellow, while waiting for Locomotive #497 to pull into the north yard. You might check and see if the paint is dry when you arrive Saturday. While you are in town, you might inquire about the status of the mail car. It was parked in front of the Depot for quite some time before they took it to be painted.
Locomotive 487 is seen pulling a 7 car Train #415 back from Antonito into the north yard. Cinder Bear is no longer in the gondola. But, there is a gaggle of railfans who seem to have enjoyed the trip based upon the fact that many are waving to us from the camera. One fellow in the north of the open car can be seen waving wildly with both hands. Maybe he is the head cheer leader.
When I left Chama in June, The Mail car was on the Rip track. They had it painted the Postal color, but the were waiting on the Gold lettering to apply to make it authentic. I am sure Sharon saw it, maybe she can update us. If someone can tell me how to upload pictures on the forum I will post a picture of the mail car.

Thanks Frank,
Frank, Jason posted a PDF file with uploading instructions several years ago. If all goes well, activating this link should download the .pdf file and allow it to open with your default PDF reader program.
The past few weeks there have been the sounds of hammers pounding and power saws ripping lumber in the background of the live views from the active cameras. Those sounds have been coming from work being done by Friends Volunteers on the Sand House and Sand Dome platform located just beneath the south camera affixed to the tipple. Wacky Roger has deployed his drone to survey these activities. Viewers can take a few minutes and observe for themselves their progress at the following link. .

Frank, I think the RR made an agreement with the movie company to do the painting themselves for a cash contribution. The movie company should not be disparaged for this IMO if this is true.
