Melting snow

By the looks of the roofs on some of the buildings and cars it appears that the snow is beginning to disappear already. Is this expected and hoped for, or is this something that could end up creating undesirable situations in the upcoming weeks?

George, daytime temps in Chama this time of year avg. in the mid forties. that coupled with the more intense sun at 7000'+ and day time thawing is usual there.
At the same time the night temps are usually around 10-11 degrees. So, of course ice will be present. When additional snow falls occur during the season, ice and snow layers build up. Makes for difficult clearing.
