These only run about 40 seconds each, I'll do full video later on - but for those that missed the departure live. Great to see a train running again!

The images today are right out of Hollywood! Never mind! Hollywood would have a hard time faking this. Watching the kids is almost mesmerizing. It would be cool if the ABQ TV stations were picking up the live feed!

What I liked was Santa standing on the rear platform as the train backed into Chama.
Weather for tomorrow is sunny and cold so we will get a different aspect of the rides.

A crew has gone down to the tank and is working on it. Wonder if the valves are frozen shut. They are using the bucket to push the main line side spout up after they pulled it down.

They've got the spout pulled down - maybe choked with ice ...
I've not seen #489 take water since it came out yesterday ...

I'd be guessing that the tank is normally drained for the winter. But what do I know?

Taking water now, they might drain it after the Christmas trains but doubt it. If its close to full the volume would keep most of it liquid.

The 1:00 run used the mainline spout for refilling the tender. Stop took less than ten minutes and then extra headed east.
