Will it be a Trick or Treat for camera viewers today? Loco still hot in the wee overnight hours. Meanwhile a "Ghost Express" runs past the water tank a Cresco. IMAGINE that!!
Happy Halloween!

Nicely done Larry!
Activity for today has already begun, as the cold locomotive 484 was pushed into the shop with the front end loader.

Based on yesterday's shots that would be 484 since it was in front of the west stall.

Well 484 was the hot loco, now at the ash pit. Hard to keep track of these locos in the off season!

Coming down the main with a stop for sand? Then picking up the flat cars and switching.

I was wondering, will they repaint the Chama Water Tank back to it's original Yellow color? I just hope they don't leave it in the movie colors for too long

Sure they will, it was just not a priority like the depot and service building. Could be in the spring even. Remember only the side we see is green, the rest is still grande gold.

X484 has reached Cumbres around 10:50 or so. No change on 11:02 refresh.

At 11:12 refresh looks like this Cumbres turn has been made and X484 may do a caboose hop back to Chama.

Interesting the way they are leaving the cars. Would have thought they would be in the sidings.

As noted above at the next refresh.

Scene is static at 11:52 refresh. Look for 484 returning on yard cam.

Sometimes in the fall and spring Antonito will send 19 up to Cumbres to pick up or deliver cars, so that may be what is happening today. If so can leave them on the main.

Guess this is easier then firing 15 up.
- 10.31.16 The heavy loader is pulling the 489 out.jpg (122.73 KiB) Viewed 6092 times
The heavy loader went to the tender and tried to push the 489 forward but was unable to, so they brought up one of the standard loader to assist.

With them going to all this trouble to move the 489 over to the east stall lead, what is going on with 484 it should have left Cumbres 3.5 hours ago.

The heavy loader is now cleaning out the ash pit. Where do they move the ash to since it never comes up the grade. Also can see 489 now parked on the east lead.

The smoke from the fire visible on the depot cam is also seen on the CDoT cam. Wonder if that has anything to do with 484 having not returned yet?

Using the 2 locations, Chama and Cumbres, it looks like the fire is south of 17 and the tracks.

There is a large pile of ash/clinkers just out of sight to the left of picture.

Now we will most likely wait and see when 315 completes the turn this week on the wintering trip over to Antonio. Trick or treaters coming got to go.

I am now wondering if the 484 staged those cars at Cumbres for 315? It can take 3 - 4 cars up the hill itself then pick these up for the run down the other side to Antonito.

Positioning of cars at Cumbres is still strange. There is plenty of siding space to take six cars and the string would not need to be broken across 17. Picking up those cars will probably require someone to flag 17
