Just turned on the cams to see 484 coming from the South yard with a gondola in tow - perhaps going to load ballast and work with that today? Which would mean going up to Cumbres I assume. Maybe Sharon can catch site at Cumbres, if we are lucky with the CDOT grabs. I'm off to a morning meeting at work.

Quick un-edited video of the departure of 484 this morning. Nice smoke in the cool weather.

That looks like one of the old East Broad Top hoppers that they bought for ballast service. They are of steel construction so great for that kind of use. Will hope to grab something if they show up.

Afternoon activities including arrival of 215:
10.18.16 484 is back in Cumbres with, it looks like, 2 ballast hoppers.jpg (115.15 KiB) Viewed 2630 times
10.18.16 484 may very well be on the siding and holding until 215 clears.jpg (120.7 KiB) Viewed 2630 times
At the 1503 grab 484 was out of the frame. In the 1514 grab from the Cumbres cam looking west, I can see a smoke haze around the curve from Coxo, could be either 484 or 487 with 215. Maybe both.
10.18.16 Up at Cumbres looks like the front loader is parked and a big over the road tractor is by the ballast pile.jpg (101.84 KiB) Viewed 2620 times

487 is doing "something" close to the coal tower, not sure what they are doing, and what is this white/blue car?

IIRC, it's called the wheel car. The Friends rebuilt it this summer.

From when they moved the car to the swamp last month this is the "white/blue" car you saw today. The wheel and tie car, as noted above was worked on by the Friends this summer. Unfortunately I didn't get today's switching, so I'm not sure what else may have been moved.

Thanks for your reply's! They moved the wheel car, a reefer and a boxcar, but it was not visible on the webcam, they took it from the sidings not visible on the webcam and bought it back there.
484 returned around 6pm, Tender first and went directly to the engine house (with stop for chleaning..)
