Quiet morning and currently the 10 cars that came in yesterday on 215 are still on the main. This does not mean we will have all 10 go out or that we will get another double header. Larry Sullivan was remarking yesterday that he thinks that the railroad has run more double headers this year. I would not know since I really did not get involved in these daily posting until this season, but I know that there have been a number and this has to bode will for the bottom line of the operating department and the work of Mr. Bush.

Preparations for today's train 216: 489

The probability of a double header just increased.



If you look closely, you see the tender of 489 up by the curve waiting for 487 to come out and to the coal dock first.



489 is now at the coal dock getting its bunker topped off while 487 has coupled onto the extra coaches.

Note the ladder by one of the ramp lights, they seem to be rewiring them today.

Departure of train 216: 487 road locomotive, 489 helper to Cumbres and 10 cars, 6 coaches, café, open gon, tourist and parlor.






We see the 3 extra coaches as the train passes the tipple.

Smoke at Cumbres. I guess it is the helper, but seems a little later than I'd expect.

Arrival of train 215: 484 and 10 cars

Well 484 is heading back to the house and all 10 cars are still on the main.
