Some rain overnight evident in the yard, and the pass is pretty well fogged in this morning. Radar doesn't look bad, so hopefully clearing off by train time. Goose 5 should be headed home today, so likely will see them make their way down to the wye at some point. Hopefully they'll be back next year, maybe even with #7 again!

Some nice steam in the damp air this morning as 484 comes up to the ash pit.



484 now down to fill the tender with water.



484 now heads to the coal dock.

The hostlers job complete, 484 awaits the road crew.



484 wastes no time this morning, already hooked up to the train.



Well ahead of normal schedule the train is now in boarding position. This may be the earliest I've seen them do that.



Fire patrol speeder now at the ash pit, with the wet weather I guess they don't need the water tank today.

Keeping an eye on the yard while out running errands. Photographer enjoying the atmospheric effects this morning for great steam action.

A gloomy and wet departure today. Photographer who was waiting must have been driven for cover. He returned just in time.

Goose 5 crew is getting ready to head for end of line to load Goose for return to Delores Museum.
Don't forget the Delores Museum is open year around and Goose will run on its track out front of the depot over the holidays!!

Look for 315 to return with a private charter sometime today based on previous plans for a private charter running out of Antonito. 315 will winter on the C&TS RR so she may appear again after today.

As Goose 5 readies for its "flight" back to Delores 463 moves to the ashpit.

463 then moves down to the tank. Gloomy sky hangs over the scene.

Goose 5 holds the main at the depot as hailstones fall. Most likely waiting for the flatbed to arrive from Delores. Appears a cross over switch is getting some attention too.

Goose 5 draws a crowd as the sun beams down on mountains in distance. Sill most likely awaiting for transport to arrive.

Farewell RGS Goose 5 as she heads to the end of the line!! Thanks for all the fun!! Come again in 2017!!!!

After Goose 5 leaves crew continues working on crossover switch.

They have been having issues with that switch for about a week.

A caboose made this CDOT refresh. In earlier refresh there were many cars parked here. Charter??? A lone photographer is waiting for a shot of this train over the old 17 trestle.

Train east of 17 visible now. Lots of photographers engaged!! Second refresh shows a plume.

Man, 215 had to wait a long time to get across 17 and to the water plug.

Photographers are getting into position in anticipation for arrival.

The charter is not even in yet and 215 is probably following it down the hill. They may be getting into position, but that one fellow is photographing us, i.e. the cam.

Well, 215 is in first. It was nice to just watch the train come in without having to grab screens.

487 brings in 215 at 4:41.

X315 is 7 minutes behind!

Well 315 went east yesterday with 4 stock cars and the caboose. Comes back with 7 stock cars and the caboose. Another interesting note, I looked at the Friends website and this stock extra is the Fall Photo Freight scheduled on October 4 and 5. It had no rider gons so passenger load with real limited. What maybe, 10 riders.

If I remember correctly they sold 40 tickets to the Fall Photo Freight charter, likely will have rider gon, and caboose or two I would think.

Thanks to Larry G for taking over the postings today, I've had computer issues that kept me from getting much. I think it's time for a full cleaning and de-frag, it's getting tired after a long season! I won't have much on video today, but what i have will be posted a bit later.

You're welcome Larry! Always fun watching my favorite RR, and if you can't be on the ground this is next best!! Glad I was home most of the day to keep tabs. Hope your computer issues resolve soon!

After 25 years I finally made my way back to Chama for the Photo special, and took the opportunity to photograph the camera I have been looking through for the past 5 months
I also got a call from my sister in Virginia, who was watching. We figured out after a few moments of confusion that she was getting the video feed about a minute after the audio part (our phone conversation).

It is great to be back here and to meet so many wonderful people.

Isn't it good to get back "home", Rob?

There is always a slight delay in the cameras. The hosting company we use gets the live feed directly from the cameras. They then spool it and rebroadcast it for public consumption.

Computer issues and crashes all day kept me limited in what I got, so here it is -- just 215 returning (no sound on it ) and Locomotive 315 bringing in the charter train. Will be interesting to see if 315 is done for the year now, or if we'll see her again.
