Smoke filling the yard as the locomotives have their fires stoked up. Should be a double-header today based on the 10 car consist set on the main.
Goose #5 will also return this afternoon.

I see the green coach on the front, so probably doing a flip coach today at Osier. Should have 484 as the road loco and 487 helping. Its great to see the C&TS having so much business. There were 3 double headers last week and now 2 so far this week.
If that was the long reefer that they placed yesterday afternoon, then maybe it is going to have some work done next week. Even though the focus is over in Antonito, they will probably be a group in Chama also.

Morning activities in preparation for today's train:

484 has moved down to the tank for a drink as 487 moves out to the pit.
Nothing like having the high pressure pop go off on a locomotive that is right by the tipple cams. If your volume is up it is earsplitting.

Sharon, thanks for the postings of the colorful departure. The website was not accessible from my vantage point at the time. Have to admit that I would have my fishing pole in hand and headed to the Chama River, once the train left this morning. Of course, that would only happen if the tickets for 215 were sold out.

Thanks Rick, I had site issues also but luckily the cams kept working so could do grabs.

I just got back home from a visit to Chama and a trip on the Train. What people don't mention is just how friendly all the people are from the train crews, repair shop, to the gift shop. All are willing to answer your questions. It made a wonderful trip with the freedom to walk around the whole yard. Thanks to all involved with this railroad.

Paul,
You have expressed well the "charm" of Chama and the RR here. I think that is the big part of what you take home with you too. Larry

Here's today's video -
Cams froze on me right at departure time, couldn't get the South cam back - so north only for 216, and no sound - but figured I'd put it here anyway.
About 1:15 487, helper from the morning 216 returned - followed soon after by the fire patrol speeder.
As 487 returned from the wye, #15 made an appearance from the back of the shop, and went to the front of the roundhouse, back to it's home for the season. 487 then backed to the cars next to the main, sat there for about 15 minutes, then went to the caboose at the back of the set of cars in the North yard and did the same. Guessing perhaps some kind of air testing? Though seemed too short for that compared to what we've seen before. Anyway, interesting and of course more questions than answers!!
Finally we have Goose #5 returning, followed shortly after by train 215 with 10 cars. They did not cut out any of the cars after turning the wye, so likely another double-header on Saturday, unless they cut them off in the morning.
