Early activity again as 489 comes to ash pit. Well they came all the way to ash pit, then backed to West stall. Lots of wheel slippage backing, have to wonder if maybe frost on the rails.

We can see they results of 487's early switching, the stock cars in north yard are gone, probably back to the far end of south yard. The other loco probably was 484. Currently 487 is simmering in front of the east stall and another loco is in the west stall since steam is coming from the jack.

Just before 216 departs the light fixtures are removed from the platform most likely in prep for Tuesday's film shoot.

Since they aren't taking down the poles, it could be that they will be replacing the current fixtures with period appropriate fixtures.
It appears poles are now down - so much for that theory. Also appears to be a bunch of re-enactors (maybe extras) heading down to South Yard area

Having been in Chama last week for the Advanced Class, i learned several things regarding the movie and the passenger cars:
MOVIE: you can't see it on the cams, but the track side of the station was re-painted grey; once the movie is done, the movie company will be re-painting the station the original color an re-painting and lettering the tank to original colors (it badly needed repainting) All passenger cars will be re-painted into C&TS red The light posts are removed and will be re-installed and set in concrete this time (again paid for by the movie)
PASSENGER CARS: C&TS is currently building two new passenger cars in Antonito - to be completed by next spring After completing the new cars they will be re-building all the flat roofed cars into celestory roof cars identical to the newer ones All the cars are built on standard gauge flat car frames, thus they are significantly wider than the historic D&RGW equipment, but much more comfortable for passengers

Thinking of the brown colour, GN passenger equipment in the later years, but before Big Sky Blue, was brown and orange. Now what would make it for me is the tank showing up with a big decal of 'Rocky' on it.

Goose 7 was definitely running as they moved it to the North yard. Have to wonder if they will clear out the other cars on that track tonight or tomorrow, or what else they may put there.

489 has the RPO now, lettered as the Great Northern Railway Baggage car.

489 has dropped the RPO on the main, and now running around, heading to the North switches.
RPO being shoved to the South yard, likely to be hooked up to the coaches.

After some additional switching in the South yard it appears 489 is done for the day, now getting sand. RPO and the two Great Northern Railway painted coaches are together, no idea if anything else will be on that train.

Have to laugh at these movie people. Most folks who watch this movie would not know an RPO from a baggage car, but any train buff will know its an RPO as well as GN never had narrow gauge.

Of course if they are looking for mountainous or plains scenery, steam railroad with plenty of rolling stock (which can be modified/painted) then they pretty much have to come to C&TSRR and forget about whether GN was standard or narrow gauge. The other thing is the book for the movie could have be inaccurate to start with. Finally they are getting the clear coat issue with the RPO taken care of.

Well my understanding from the Friends I spoke with at session E was that the stripping was going to happen even without the movie and they were actually repainting it in the original colour when the movie contract came in.

Train 215 Arrival
After turning 215, 489 did some switching getting the RPO (aka baggage car ) and the two coaches painted and lettered for the Great Northern Railway. All 3 were placed on the track next to the main.

I agree, but it's nice to get someone else to pay for something that was going to be done anyway. It just leaves money available for other projects.
