8/7/16 Could be sunny today for the ride

All 3 K36's are simmering at the house as the mustard yellow van used for Cinder Bear sits in the parking lot. After a wonderful 10 days in Chama and environs, I am back at it doing the daily posts. Withdrawal from not hearing and smelling the yard and locomotives moving about.

I did answer one question that has been bugging me, why did 15 stay outside this summer. Looks like after it came out of its stall this spring they loaded it up with stuff to the point 15 can't get back into it.

Morning preparations:
Looks like we have 487 making up steam on the west lead and in the north yard Avery is doing a gas can run. The house lead switch is also set to the west side.

Departure of train 216: 487 with 8 cars, with the recent rains in Chama and the mountains, the speeder is going out ahead of the train as a rock/slide patrol. Most interesting, we are close to the 10 minute mark till departure and the train has not moved forward into a load position.

Sorry bud. I've been busy working on the new 360 degree 3D cameras with web-based remote control. I think those have the smell-o-vision option. :smiley16:

Sharon,
I watched bring around a flat car with lots of engine parts on it and back it in the stall the 15 is in front of. I suspected much of the 488 is in that stall on a flat car - did you verify what they were storing in there? Just curious.
Thanks,
John

No John, I did not look through the windows but I will be posting a shot of the 488's boiler which is in the engine house.
