7/13/16 Another beautiful day to ride or chase

Wednesday is here and we see 484 building a head of steam and currently the house lead switch is set to the west lead, so maybe 484 is going back out today. Even though they removed the 4th coach yesterday evening, today is a Cinder Bear experience so should see it placed back on.

Don't want to read anything into this, but with the switching yesterday afternoon, they pulled at least 2 more coaches to the east in south yard and we now can see 3 coaches from the depot cam.

487's headlight is now on and the house lead switch is now to the east side.
487 has moved out from the house to the pit and 484 has gotten to the tank and is caught blowing down.

The load factor today, even with Cinder Bear, is not enough to warrant an extra coach.

They may be also getting ready for the extra trains this weekend. We have the Moonlight and Wine Tasting train Friday night, the dinner train on Saturday night, and the next Engineer/Fireman school starts on Sunday. We'll just have to watch and see, as usual, but it sure is interesting trying to guess!

Well that could all be the case. Today no double header anyway and should be an 8 car train east, not.

Oops! Better call road service. Truck is about at the end of cell phone service here.
Will it be there to watch the 216 cross 17?

Arrival of train 215: locomotive 489 with 7 cars. There were autos on the Cumbres cam at 2:59 which were gone on the 3:09 grab so would guess the train left Cumbres sometime in the 10 minute window. Should be in Chama around 4:15 MDT.

Here's today's video, very quiet day in the yard between the two trains today.
