7/10/16 Chama quiet

It is 7 am MDT and the we see a nice quiet yard. On the east lead 487 sits in front of 484 and 463 is on the west lead. Soon the morning quiet will be broken by the preparations for the departure of today's train 216. Currently things are set for 487 to lead this train east all the way to Antonito with 489 coming back on 215.

Morning preparations: 487 today and currently there is a 4th coach staged on the main for Cinder Bear.

215 arrives with #489 in the lead. Folks standing on the platform behind the locomotive wave at the camera as they pass by, several others enjoying the sunny - though breezy - weather in the gondola. Looks like another day ends with happy passengers as 489 pulls into the depot.

Train 216 departs right on time, but as they are about to head out of the yard they stop for a couple minutes before proceeding up the hill.



Train 215 arrives this afternoon, sunny but very breezy afternoon in Chama

489 has done some switching including moving the extra coach over to yard 1. Also 484 is sitting in front of 463, so maybe it will go out on 216 tomorrow.
