Morning preparations:

It looks like 489 has the call today for train 216 as its now at the ash pit.

489 has moved on to get water. There also are some people working on the speeder that is parked furthest from the camera on the coal lead.

489 is now moving from the water tower to the coal dock.

Coal dust flies as the front end loader dump the load in the bunker of 489.

Lets not forget the unsung worker who drives the fire patrol speeder as he readies for the day ahead.

The road crew has taken over just after the coaling is done.

489 is backing down to the repaired kitchen storage car

Now they shove the kitchen storage car back onto the other 2 cars on that track

Early this afternoon the Rocky Mountain Division of NARCOA will be setting on speeders for three days on the railroad. After the 4 PM train returns they will make a run up to Cumbres and back.
Tomorrow they go to Antonito and spend the night and return to Chama on Sunday.

Morning switching continued:

With the 2 cars back close to the depot, 489 comes out with the kitchen storage car.

489 now is shoving the kitchen storage car into the connector track. You can see all the work done over the 2 weeks since it was just a shell when they began.

With the kitchen storage car where they want it 489 comes back out.

489 has gone into south yard and we see it coming out with an additional coach for today's train so 8 cars.

Train 216 departure:

Train is now in ready position.

Shrouded in its own smoke, 289 gets train 216 moving out of Chama

With 489 by the coaling tower the train is seen in both cams.

216 has stopped for some reason just short of the trees.

After several minutes moving again on to Cumbres and beyond.

The speeders from the Rocky Mountain Division of NARCOA are starting to gather in the north yard.

A gathering of owners seems to be happening.

With 215 safely in Chama, the speeders head out to Cumbres

This probably is 215 at the base of the pass (look in circle). This was not there on the next update.

Arrival of train 215 into Chama:

484 enters the yard and passes the speeders.

The train is passing the coaling tower.

Parlor Colorado still is wearing its bunting on the rail.

484 slows as it passed the depot.

484 is back from spinning the wye.

#216 departs with #489 in the lead. Cams were freezing again at departure time today.



#487 goes to the ash pit, then the water tower with #463 in tow, though 463 appears hot still.




NARCOA speeders setup to be on the C&TS this weekend, departing for Cumbres after #215 arrives.

The NARCOA speeder group has returned from Cumbres, looks like a beautiful evening for the run.

The gathering around the speeders is for the safety meeting. Safety meeting are held everyday before the run.
