487 has come out to the pit. Notice the frost on the ties with the temperature in the upper 20's.

I just saw a person climb up on that mystery flat and get into the cab of what is on it. May very well be a shovel of some kind. Wonder if 19 brought it from Antonito to Cumbres and left it there.

The work has begun in south yard so we will see what is also going to Antonito for the winter.

First out and onto the main is the rest of the passenger cars.

OK, the 487 just shoved that mystery flat east toward the bridge. This blocks the main for now.
The 487 is back with the flat and whatever was on it is now gone, bet left by the bridge. He is now running around the flat. We should get a better look soon.
Here is the good look and you can see the unloading ramp. It now has been added to the hospital train.

The hospital train has departed with some very lucky riders onboard.

Likely the last train out until perhaps the Christmas train, assuming the bridge work is completed on time. Currently we have 488 and 463 cold inside the shop or on the South side, 487 on the way to Antonito - most likely to stay until May, 484 and 489 still hot in front of the shop - you have to wonder for how much longer. We'll enjoy it while we can!
Here's today's departure video. Several lucky riders waving at the tipple cams!

Anyone watching the cams should have noted a lot of tool sounds coming from the engine house. Maybe they are already at work on 488.

Thanks for the coverage and updates as I was tied up this morning. Checked and found a lone speeder at the ashpit. Cumbres is lonely at this moment too.

Is there a chance that the cars from yesterday were left at Osier and not Cumbres that would have been a good place for the 19 to leave that flat? There was a truck at Cumbres maybe waiting for today's train and its gone and no sign of the train on the cam.

At about 12:00 local time a "Speeder Extra" holds the main Eastbound. Probably heading for bridge work.

Sounds reasonable to me since it took 484 along time to return yesterday and they could take advantage of the turning loop there also.

Speaking of the 484 it just moved to the right side of the house and is backing in and shoving another locomotive out the back. Came back through and once the speeder got off the pit, it is now there. I also am wondering if the 484 is the last locomotive under steam since I do not see any sign of smoke or steam from the 489 over by the left door. After getting water, the 484 is back at the house on the right side.
