Thanks for the information on the speeders, Larry.
The 216 left a tiny bit late with 484 in front. A CDOT cam caught the plume as she made her way to Cumbres, where she will arrive a tiny bit later than usual.
Looks like a really pretty morning for railroading.
Jeff

Here's today's video review -
This morning the NARCOA speeder group left early - due to cams freezing I didn't get that departure. Train 216 left about 12 minutes late -- the lateness due to a last minute addition of a passenger coach - about 9:50am 484 decoupled from the train, and got the coach. As per usual the railroad does a fine job in both accommodating what must have been last minute passengers showing up, and still getting out nearly on time. Yard was quiet the rest of the day until 215 came in, and 489 prepared to take the dinner train up the hill. About 45 minutes after the dinner train, the NARCOA speeders returned.

08-22-15 Another lone deer visits - hangs around down by the Rotary for a while, then as 488 heads for the ash pit you can see the deer go across the front of the rotary.

As this is posted the speeders are at the wye turning around, if anything else of interest I'll add here later. Will try for the dinner train return as well, but will be at work - so no guarantees!

In the dinner train departs double shots, that is a picture, in the north cam, of me standing by my car with the red slacks. I chased the dinner train as far as the 3d crossing. I also saw that lone deer and got a photograph of it. It did not seem afraid of people at all. Also as I type this the dinner train has returned to town. Could hear it passing the Parlor Car where I am staying.

One more for the day, the dinner train returns - some folks near the speeders with flashlights checking things out as well. Another fun day at our favorite railroad comes to an end.
