Noticed one of the 4 legged rail fans of the area just decided to lie down next to the sandbox and enjoy the view of the early morning locomotives peculating away, instead of the usual wander through and disappear.

There are still deer in view of the cams, but no cabooses.

489 took the 216 east with a caboose behind the tender as 487 waited to pull the other caboose onto the mainline in order to put her on the other end of the set of cars that they used for the fireman/engineer school.

During that time, 484 visited the ash pit and the water tower before moving to the easternmost engine house track.

After a fairly long pause and a sand re-fill, 487 headed out of the yard with the "pipe train".

#487 returned about 12:20 with the cut of cars used for the school trains, slowly backing into the yard. Video to be posted this evening.

I was wondering when they were going to do a break in run and that must have been the first. Should see her on a train soon. Also what are they doing at the station, just noticed a front end loader dropping a load of gravel near the handicapped spots.

Wow...those two are working hard.

They put down a couple layers of weed barrier before the next load came.

Shadows are starting to get longer.

The gon was more crowded than usual as the 215 arrived on a pretty and warm afternoon.

Videos from today - unfortunately some issues prevented me from getting the 487 shakedown run departure, as well as 215 returning.
