Looks like they are turning the 489 right back out after it came in on 215 yesterday.

489 puts on quite the smoke show as he pulls train 216 out of Chama today 15 minutes late.

If you look closely straight up from the yellow sign, you can see a wisp of smoke from #489 as the 216 heads to Cumbres.

Again, the clock is an hour off should read 10:55:12.

The CDOT cam caught this a little while later. I feared it might be a fire. Having never been there, I have to rely on map and satellite photos. Could that be smoke from the train as it passes by on the other side of Highway 17?

(note: the smoke was gone 10 minutes later).

Here's today's videos. A quiet day in the yard, with the only other movements being 487 coming to the ash pit and getting water, I did not see any activity with 484 today, so perhaps getting a boiler wash or other work. Also after 488 turned the afternoon train at the wye, they came and moved the caboose back into the South yard.

Nice coverage today. As Larry said a very quiet day around the yard after a hectic Friday and Saturday.
