Friends Work Session getting started, Evening Dinner Train, and a Doubleheaded 216. Should be lots of moves with 463 starting out the parade. A great day to be there or if not watching the cameras. Appears prep of 463 and 489 is going smoothly about one hour prior to departure.

Business must by good since this is the 2d 10 car train this week. Love to see the 463 out and about so much.

On a clear day, you can see forever.

Smoke in the distance indicates that the double header should arrive at Cumbres Pass soon.

Anybody around tomorrow can get 463 coming back with 10 cars. Should make a nice show for the cameras.

That will be fun, but there is still more fun to go today.

After heading through the west door of the engine house in tandem with 489 and leaving her on the other side, 484 spent some time in the engine house before coming out for water and fuel in preparation for the sunset extra.

The second two pics show that the 215 arrived at Cumbres Pass at the same time as the watering and fueling of 484. Fun to be able to see both at once, although I'd rather be there in person where you can only see one of them at a time.

I will be in Chama on a Saturday in August and am looking forward to chasing the sunset train up to the pass. This is the only time you can get an east bound in afternoon light as it heads up the 4% grade. Then the return train should be coming back just about sunset which will give different light yet again.

Well had a 9 car 215 today, will see if they remove any of the coaches before the sunset train. Business must be very good. When 216 left this morning almost all the seat on the cam side were full.

Yeah, Sharon.

It will be interesting to see how they set up tonight's train. I'm also interested in how the 216 will look tomorrow.

First off a thank you to all that helped cover the day, very much appreciated by those that can't be here live.

Unfortunately due to my Saturday morning job, and I had to meet with my former boss about taking over house and cat care duties for the next couple weeks, I wasn't able to be here this morning to get the big show on video. So apologies for no video of 216 this morning. But here's what I have from the rest of the day -----

07-25-15 489 returns "light" after helping 216 up the hill.

07-25-15 Once 215 was turned, 488 put 2 of the coaches back in the South yard, while 484 took over duties for the sunset extra. 488 came through the "back" way to the ash pit.

07-25-15 Sunset dinner train extra departs, with a stop for water, as 488 heads for the shop.

1945 or 2015? Thanks!! Imagine standing beside the tipple cam with a high def camera at this time. What a poster image could be made!! Classic!

Also thanks to all for contributing to today's event. A great archive made.

The extra has returned with the FRED blinking brightly, even though it is pretty unlikely that there is another train on the mainline behind her.

Gotta love the FRA.

Great captures Jeff, I tuned in after the Dinner Special arrived to see passengers debarking at the depot. Today was definitely a full day on this RR.

484 returns the coaches from the wye around 9:27 then heads for servicing as headlight makes some interesting patterns at night to conclude a very special day on the RR.
