Double Header??? YES 7/8/15

The 489 got 216 ready to go and now has pulled up past the engine house lead and the 463 is having its fire cleaned. I think I got coal yesterday so maybe??? Earlier I saw them adding sand to the dome on 463.

...Tomorrow's 215 will probably have 463 as the road engine all the way west. There is also an extra coach on 216 for what that means.

Looks like problems with the first coach as a group of people are gathered around and the departure is delayed.

489 has returned to Chama. I'm sure they will be thrilled in Antonito to see 463 bringing in the 216 this evening.

488 just brought 215 into Chama and for the first time in a while all 3 operational K36's are in Chama with the 463 over in Antonito.

That is an interesting situation. It is all on 463 to get the job done tomorrow from the CO end. Very cool.

Here's the video from the day. Seemed to be a late decision to run with the double header today. It's also the first time I can remember seeing 463 as the road engine, usually she's the helper. No idea what the issue was that caused the delay, though you could hear them dump the air 3 different times. All ended up well, and a nice departure today.

07-08-15 Train 216 Departs with 489 as helper and 463 as the road locomotive.
07-08-15 Train 215 Returns with #488 in the lead.
