Lots of activity in yard this morning as locomotive prep begins while Friends work the last day of Session C. Lettering is visible on the Tank Car in the second photo. Then as 216 awaits departure some water is put on the hot ashes to cool them down.

Check throughout the day for updates and Larry's videos.

There are 2 hot engines in front of the house, one is surely 463 and the other not sure but does not look like it has the plow so probably not 489.

484 is getting coal now to get ready for something. Is there an evening run up to Cumbres today?

Is it possible that they are running a special for the Friends who worked this week. I looks like they are recrewing the train and people are getting on with cameras.

484 has now backed down onto the train and there are a lot of people milling around the station so something is happening. 489 is now at the ash pit. Hope someone else is watching this, I have to go get supper ready.

489 passes 484 heading for service and then 484 backs down to the coach set as a crowd gathers on the depot platform.
Looks like an Extra is going out.

X484 heads out on the line at 5:27 local time with happy riders in the open gon. Notice how the afternoon sun gleams off newly painted 483 over by the shop. Work Session C has a great ending.

Here's a screen shot from the CDOT west Cumbres cam. You can see the smoke from the Friends Extra at Coxo.

X484 returns to Chama just before 11:00 local time. Lots of sentiment with this trip for members of the Friends.

To complete today's moves 484 returns the coaches from the wye around 11:25 local time. Then cuts off and backs down the south yard and heads for the enginehouse's south side.

The dinner ran long, (having too much fun in one of my favorite places on earth), and the railroad was having issues with a car. They stopped several times down the hill just to make sure everything was OK. LOTS of furry forest friends came out and were watching us go by at night, (must be foamers...).
