Looks like #15 will be part of the action today.

I just heard thunder as I was watching.

#15 fired up, 484 hooked up to the caboose and gondola. Might be smoke now from behind the shop as well, maybe just the shop heater exhaust, but seems in the wrong place.

Agree with Sharon, definitely live action when you also see lighting and hear thunder!. Now, is that snow we see on the other web cams?

I was seeing the exhaust rising left rear of engine house, but now hard to see with the exhaust of 15 drifting that way.

It's a rapidly changing scene in the yard today. With the snow in the high country it's probably good that opening day is still a week away. Road travel to get there to ride would be interesting with the Winter Storm Warning issued.

Did 15 actually do anything? Just seemed to run around the yard and is now back in the house. 484 seems to be headed to the 'y'. Maybe the weather changed plans for the day.

Whatever the plan for the day was the weather may have cancelled things out. 484 now headed toward the wye. #15 is back in the roundhouse with the doors closed, no idea where they went, perhaps to just move something behind the shop. Interesting morning, I'll combine everything into a video of the day later.

The one thing you get with weather like this is a great smoke show!
484 returning from the wye, with a touch of snow on the ground.

484 now pulling 489 and another locomotive (488?) from the shop. Struggling a bit on the slippery tracks.

Quite the show of steam, smoke and wheel slips going on.

Have no idea what is happening behind the shops, but poor 484 is having a time of it.

#484 pulls 489 and 488 from shop. 488 placed on left hand track, 489 pushed back behind shop. Currently out of sight (and not on this video) 484 is working hard behind the shop still. Quite amazing show of power, lots of smoke and some wheel slippage.

While we can't see what's going on, the sights and sounds make it worth posting this I think.
484 behind the shop, smoke belching, wheels slipping and working hard. My assumption - moving 489 and 463 inside the shop - just a guess on my part.

That was quite a show earlier this morning, between the adverse weather and the heavy slipping going on as #484 attempted to pull #489 (and possibly #463) forward to the engine house. Glad I wasn't standing inside the shop while #484 was spinning its wheels in there... definitely would have loud and terribly choky smoky. One other thing I noticed was that while #15 was out, they ran it to the wye and turned it around. The end with the plow is now facing us. Why that was necessary eludes me. Seems that there is quite a bit of painting to be done on the locomotives before opening day. The first trick may just be drying them out so they can accept some paint!

Thank you for noticing that detail on #15 Edwin, at least it gives a reason for the move. Also seems that the diesel was running much smoother than the other day, perhaps they've tuned it up a bit.
Since that time, #484 is now moved over in front of (488, or 463) and seems to be set there for the night.

Nice set of videos today, Larry. Thank-you! The wet and cold air sure added to the dramatics of the stack talk!
