463 comes out of the shop to start some switching in the yard
After stopping for a cleaning at the ash pit, down to the water tank and back up to start working. Now down in the South yard.

It's been an interesting, but slow-paced day. Lots of people in period costumes wandering about, including saddle horses, pack horses, and riders, but mostly they have been standing around waiting for something to happen. At one point, #463 had to run up toward the coaling ramp and pull the Roberts out of the field of vision (would have been a noticeable anachronism) and it seemed that they had trouble getting it moving. It's been very windy down there today. #463's whistle sounds like it has a bad case of brassy laryngitis, more of a peeper than a hooter! Still, nice to see our little lady under steam.

I agree with you Edwin. I think I saw those guys carry those sacks back & forth at least 5 times already. And, #463's whistle does sound like she has a Spring allergy. Weird. Not too much action on the grounds, but interesting otherwise.

Thanks, Larry. Very cool.
Cowboys on horseback look very much at-home in Chama yard.

Finishing up the day and being put to bed at 9:45 local. Long day for all, hopefully they got a great shoot. With the two hoppers left on the main, not sure if they will continue shooting tomorrow, but we should see some movement putting cars back. That's it for me for the day, hope all enjoyed!

Sorry, I don't - perhaps someone else will know and post it for us. I'd like to see it, whatever it is!

Larry, please call them gons as the hoppers are now ballast cars.

Per Lee Bates; The episode they're shooting now is "Butch Cassidy". LEAVE THE RPO ALONE!!!!
It looks like this seasons shows are set though, so maybe a 2016 air date???

Hopefully they won't be that authentic. That's all we need is having to piece the RPO back together.

Julia Roberts is here, too, on a different project. I dunno if the C&T is involved.

Not that these web sites are always accurate but I just checked the web and Roberts isn't shown to be working on anything right now. But it lists her husband as a camera man.

Thanks for the correction Tom, I'm still trying to learn all the correct names for this railroad!
